Docket No. 2020-00033
Pursuant to An Act To Reform Maine’s Renewable Portfolio Standard. P.L. 2019, Chapter 477, the Maine Public Utilities Commission (MPUC) is seeking proposals from qualifying renewable generation resources for the sale of energy or renewable energy credits (RECs). To be a qualifying resource, a generation facility must meet the requirements for a Maine RPS Class 1A resource as specified in the Act and Chapter 311 of the Commission’s rules. Bidders selected will enter into contract(s) with one or both of Maine’s investor-owned transmission and distribution utilities - Central Maine Power Company (CMP) and Emera Maine (EM) (T&D utilities). Contract(s) will be for a term of 20 years, unless the Commission finds a contract for a longer term to be prudent. Proposals will be evaluated based upon the requirements and objectives stated in the Act and the Request for Proposals (RFP). The Commission will hold a bidders information session on March 12, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Worster Room at the Commission’s Offices at 101 Second Street in Hallowell. New All inquiries about the RFP should be directed to Faith Huntington, the Commission’s Director of Electric and Gas Utility Industries, at: faith.huntington@maine.gov.
