Improve the Accessibility, Safety, and Efficiency of Public Buildings

Department of Administrative and Financial Services

Allocation: $10,000,000

Status: Active

The pandemic has illustrated the need for accessible, safe, and efficient infrastructure, and has made improving air quality and ventilation in public buildings a priority. At the same time, rising energy costs and climate risks have increased the taxpayer benefit of adopting additional energy efficiency measures within public facilities.

To improve air quality, protect worker and visitor safety, and produce long-term operational savings, these funds will support construction and repairs at State-owned buildings in the Augusta area, for initiatives including: asbestos removal, heating system replacement, and upgrades to ventilation and air filtration systems.
