Online Auctions

Maine Surplus uses two online auction sites (GovDeals and GovPlanet) to sell surplus items that are still available after they have been offered to eligible donees.

GovDeals

GovDeals Website

This site is used for surplus items (excluding vehicles) that are not easily stored in the warehouse for display during public sales. For example:

  • Bulk items, such as pallets of masks or hand sanitizer.
  • Specialty items with more limited public interest, such as laboratory equipment.
  • Heavy items, such as table saws.

Auctions are ongoing until items are sold. Interested members of the public can search GovDeals using the keyword: Maine Surplus Property

GovPlanet

GovPlanet Website

This site is used for vehicles and outdoor machinery stored in the auction yard.

Items that are not sold to eligible donees during the donee sale are listed on GovPlanet where they become available to the general public. GovPlanet auctions are held on Wednesdays during weeks when items are available for auction. Interested members of the public can find more details and search GovPlanet using the keyword: Maine
