Flood watches mean watch for flooding

October 21, 2009

Floods don't always happen in the springtime in Maine. Too much rain at any time of year can cause flooding, especially in low-lying areas. Whenever you hear about a flood watch, look out for closed roads. If you see a barrier, respect it. Most flooding deaths across the country are vehicle related. Turn around, don't drown.
