Make a floor plan of your home ...

  • Identify safe places to go in case of fire, hurricane or flood
  • Practice a fire drill

Check your cupboards. Do you have these items? If not, pick them up at the grocery store this week.

  • 1 gallon water (one for each member of the family)
  • 1 can of meat, fruit and vegetables each for each family member (remember special foods for special diets, if needed)
  • 2 rolls of toilet paper
  • Extra toothbrush
  • Travel size toothpaste

Fallen leaves can block the drainage that usually carries rain water away from your house or your driveway. If culverts, ditches or gutters are full of leaves, a heavy rain can bring water where it's not supposed to be. Get raking!
