Make a floor plan of your home ...
- Identify safe places to go in case of fire, hurricane or flood
- Practice a fire drill
Check your cupboards. Do you have these items? If not, pick them up at the grocery store this week.
- 1 gallon water (one for each member of the family)
- 1 can of meat, fruit and vegetables each for each family member (remember special foods for special diets, if needed)
- 2 rolls of toilet paper
- Extra toothbrush
- Travel size toothpaste

Our pets are part of our families. Make sure you have supplies on hand that they need if you couldn't leave your home for several days, or if you had to evacuate. A supply of food, litter, medicines, carriers or crates -- check on them all.
