The National Weather Service has a flood watch in effect for eastern and downeast Maine through today. Severe storms and heavy rains in these areas may cause small rivers and streams to overflow their banks today. Ponding of water on roads, especially at intersections and underpasses, can lead to localized flooding. MEMA offers these flood and flash flood safety tips:
