Sometimes asking for help is a sign of strengthNovember 22, 2009If you, or someone in your family, have a disability, you probably take pride in living independently and taking care of yourself. However, in a major emergency, there might be circumstances where you would need help. Talk confidentially with your local fire chief, or emergency medical services provider before any emergency happens, and make a plan for getting the help you need. Making a plan keeps you and your family in control of your own safety.
