LPA Certification Training

Municipalities and other organizations wishing to administer federal-aid projects must employ someone with decision-making authority who has LPA certification from MaineDOT. Failure to have a certified individual on staff jeopardizes your ability to administer a federally funded transportation project.

The next certification program is scheduled for Tuesday, November 18 at the Augusta Civic Center.

For more information, please call 624-3508 or e-mail MaineDOT’s Local Projects Coordinator.

MaineDOT’s most recent Tier 1 certification training was held May 14, 2014. The presentations from that session and other recent programs are found below, along with a series of videos from the Federal Highway Administration.

The Federal Highway Administration has produced a series of videos, "Federal-aid Essentials for Local Public Agencies," to guide municipalities and other local agencies through the process of designing and building projects with federal money. MaineDOT has posted links to these videos below to supplement its Local Project Administration training program.
