Plantation of Moro Plt
Moro is a plantation in Aroostook County, organized formally on April 29, 1891 from a portion of Rockabema Plantation. Moro, which had been organized several times earlier for election purposes, was formed from townships T6 R5 and T6 R7 WELS.
Located about 24 miles west of Houlton and north of Patten on Maine Route 11, Moro, in addition to having Rockabema Lake, is replete with small ponds and streams making for fine fishing for anglers.
Knowles Corner, on the northern boundary, is at the intersection of Maine Routes 11 and 212, which leads to Smyrna Mills in the south.
