Issues

Rep. Koffman’s legislative priorities include sustainable economic development strategies, particularly downtown revitalization and affordable housing for Maine’s work force. He introduced the nations’ first climate change statute, setting dates and goals for greenhouse gas reductions. Ted also introduced electronic waste legislation which calls for shared responsibility between consumers, towns, and producers for the recycling and proper disposal of TV tubes and computer monitors which contain toxic materials. He supports river habitat restoration and eco-tourism initiatives and enhancement of the state’s management of high quality, outdoor recreation resources.
