Rep. Hayes
Rep. Terry Hayes is serving her first term in the House of Representatives.
She is a member of the Legislature’s Committee on State and
Local Government.
Born and raised in the greater Portland area, Rep. Hayes graduated
from Catherine McAuley High School in 1976. She continued her education
in Maine, and earned a degree from Bowdoin College in 1980.
Rep. Hayes served Buckfield for 13 years on the MSAD 39 School
Board, and chaired it for three years. For the past six years,
she has moderated annual town meetings for Hartford, Sumner and
Buckfield.
Professionally, Rep. Hayes is a guardian ad litem in Maine’s
District and Probate Courts. She has worked in the field for more
than two decades, focusing her practice on divorcing, separated
and divorced families.
She serves on the Court Services Committee of the Maine District
Court, as well as the Maine CASA Advisory Board.
She and her husband Steve have lived in Buckfield for the last
18 years. They have three children.
