Representative John C. Schneck
Rep. John C. Schneck is serving his second term in the Maine House of Representatives. John is semi-retired with a diverse work history that includes running a small family pest-control business, working as a treaty reinsurance underwriter in New York City and, most recently, as the afternoon news anchor on WKIT and WZON, Stephen King’s radio stations. John is a licensed amateur radio operator and a veteran who served in the U.S. Naval Reserve during the Vietnam War. John has been a member of the American Legion for more than 40 years.
After spending many years backpacking and hiking extensively throughout New England, John and his family chose to move to Maine in 1997. He and his wife, Mary, settled in Bangor, where they raised their two daughters, Katie and Kelly. John has been a vibrant part of his community, volunteering in various capacities, including as a volunteer firefighter. John and Mary continue to reside in Bangor with their four-legged son, an Airedale named Murphy.
