Rep. Briggs
Rep. Sheryl Briggs began serving her first term in the House
of Representatives after winning the November 2007 Special Election.
She is a member of the Inland Fisheries & Wildlife Committee.
She is a graduate of Mexico High School and of Mid-State College
in Medical Transcription. She is currently employed full-time
as an Executive Secretary for the Town of Mexico.
A dedicated public servant in local and county government, Sheryl
is a member of the Mexico Historical Society, River Valley Riders
ATV Club, Sportsman’s Alliance of Maine, Mexico Trail Blazers
Snowmobile Club and Maine Snowmobile Association. She also organizes
local events such as the homecoming celebration for 24 Iraqi
soldiers and the town of Mexico’s annual Night of Appreciation.
She also created St. Theresa’s Catholic Church’s
Youth Ministry Program.
Sheryl and her husband Richard live in Mexico. They have two
grown children and two grandchildren.
