Rep. Berry
Representative Seth Berry is serving his first
term as state legislator for Bowdoin, Bowdoinham and Richmond.
He serves on the Utilities and Energy Committee.
Representative Berry, who was born in Bowdoinham, attended kindergarten
at Coombs School and graduated from Phillips Academy in Andover,
MA. While earning a Bachelor's degree from Brown University,
he served as an intern in Maine's District 1 Congressional
Office
in Washington D.C. and later studied abroad in Ecuador, South
America. After graduation he taught public school students
in East Harlem
(Central Park East Secondary) and Washington Heights, New York
City. His master's degree is from Columbia University, Teachers
College, 1994.
Berry returned to his hometown of Bowdoinham where he served
as a selectman between June 2002 and December 2006, including
a year
as chair.
Currently, Berry teaches in MSAD 75 schools that include Bowdoin
and Bowdoinham. He and his wife, Adelaida Gaviria, reside
in Bowdoinham with their two young children.
