About
Rep. Stuckey
Rep. Peter Stuckey worked for 18 years as director of the Children’s
Nature & Science Center and East End Children’s Workshop, and
then for another 18 as child development and program operations directors
at the People’s Regional Opportunity Program. During that time, he
was a member of the Maine Child Care and Head Start Directors’ associations;
Alliance for Children’s Care, Education and Supporting Services; United
Way Public Policy Committee; Maine Region I Homeless Council; Cumberland
County Alliance to End Hunger; Cumberland County Child Abuse & Neglect
Council; Children ’s Advocacy Council; and Greater Portland CA$H.
He also coached hockey at Portland High School for seven years.
Stuckey and his wife, Michelle, have been married for 41 years
and have lived in East Deering since 1974. They were founders of
the Good Day Market and founding members of the East Deering Neighbors
Association. They have two grown children, Jason and Sarah, and
two grandsons.
