About Rep. Jones

Rep. Pat Jones is serving her first term in the Legislature, having been elected in a special election in November 2007. She was born in Augusta and has lived in central Maine for most of her life.

Pat earned a degree in dental hygiene, and then a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Maine. Pat worked in public health at the Maine Bureau of Health for 24 years, and managed the School Dental Health Program and later the Community Health Program. She has worked with the Legislature on various health policies and most recently championed legislation to improve access to oral health care.

Retired since 2003, Pat has volunteered as a member of local school board for SAD 10 and District 42, has chaired the Mount Vernon youth alcohol prevention program (Alive and Well), is a past member of the Healthy Futures Coalition, a current member of the Mount Vernon Community Partnership and spends time helping out at the Mount Vernon Dr. Shaw Memorial Library.

Pat was married to the late Deane Jones for 42 years and has two grown sons and one granddaughter.

She currently lives on a small farm in Mount Vernon, Maine.
