About
Rep. Carey
Rep. Carey joined the 123rd Legislature
in 2008 after winning a special election for the vacant seat
in House District 72. He is serving his first term in the House
of Representatives and is a member of the Legislature’s
Committee on Legal and Veterans Affairs.
A real estate developer, Rep. Carey is active in pursuing historic
renovation as a tool for economic development. He chairs the
city of Lewiston task force considering redevelopment options
for the Bates Mill Building No. 5. Rep. Carey is also an active
board member of Androscoggin Habitat for Humanity.
Rep. Carey grew up in Leeds and matriculated to Dartmouth College
where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in History. In addition
to his work, community involvement and legislative service, Rep.
Carey enjoys hiking and biking.
