About Rep. Mason

Rep. Andrew Mason is serving his first term in the Maine House of Representatives for District 60, most of Topsham.  He is assigned to the Joint Standing Committee on Labor, Commerce, Research and Economic Development.  Rep. Mason was previously elected to the Topsham Board of Selectmen in November 2010 and served until January 2013.

Rep. Mason has been an attorney with Reben, Benjamin & March since August 2007.  He specializes in workers’ compensation, Social Security Disability, personal injury, employment discrimination, and short and long term disability insurance denials. Prior to joining the firm, Rep. Mason served as the Kennebec County Superior Court law clerk.  Mr. Mason received his law degree magna cum laude from Vermont Law School in 2006, where he was also a member of the Vermont Law Review.  Rep. Mason served as a law clerk on the United States Senate Judiciary Committee for the ranking Democrat, Senator Patrick Leahy during the summer of 2005, and he also clerked for the Honorable Jerome J. Niedermeier, Magistrate Judge for the United States District Court, Burlington, Vermont during law school. 

Prior to law school, Rep. Mason spent 10 years working as a Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist teaching independent travel skills to blind and visually impaired children and adults. He lives in Topsham with his wife, Michelle, and his daughter.
