About Rep. Mason

Rep. Andrew Mason is serving his first term in the Maine House of Representatives. He represents District 60, most of Topsham. He is a member of the Joint Standing Committee on Labor, Commerce, Research and Economic Development. Rep. Mason served on the Topsham Board of Selectmen after his election in November 2010 and until January 2013.

Rep. Mason is an attorney who specializes in workers’ compensation, Social Security disability, personal injury, employment discrimination, and short- and long-term disability insurance denials. A former Kennebec County Superior Court law clerk, he earned his law degree magna cum laude in 2006 from Vermont Law School, where he was a member of the Vermont Law Review. Rep. Mason served as a law clerk on the United States Senate Judiciary Committee for the ranking Democrat, Senator Patrick Leahy, during the summer of 2005. He clerked for the Honorable Jerome J. Niedermeier, Magistrate Judge for the United States District Court, Burlington, Vermont, during law school.

Before attending law school, Rep. Mason spent 10 years working as a certified orientation and mobility specialist, teaching independent travel skills to blind and visually impaired children and adults. He lives in Topsham with his wife, Michelle, and his daughter.
