Rep. Fischer
Representative Jeremy Fischer is serving his third term in the
Maine Legislature. He earned a bachelor’s degree
in political science summa cum laude from
the University of Michigan, where he was a semi-finalist for the
Rhodes
Scholarship.
After graduation, Rep. Fischer returned to his hometown of Presque
Isle. He was elected to the Legislature in 2002 and also worked
in the insurance industry until 2005. Rep. Fischer is presently
attending the University of Maine School of Law in addition to
his work in Augusta.
Rep. Fischer is the House chair of the Appropriations
and Financial Affairs Committee. His legislative priorities are
higher education and economic development. He believes Maine must
increase the educational attainment of its population and create
good paying jobs so young people will not be forced to move away
from Maine to move up in life.
Rep. Fischer and his wife Sarah live in Presque Isle.
