About Rep. Hubbell
Rep. Brian Hubbell is serving his first term in the Maine legislature. He has been assigned to the Joint Standing Committee on Education and Cultural Affairs.
Rep. Hubbell is an advocate for community schools and was involved in reshaping Maine’s school consolidation laws, Hubbell served as the first chair of the reorganized Mount Desert Island Regional School System. Along with legislative advocacy, Hubbell is currently serving his fourth term as a school board member and has guided MDI schools’ contract negotiations and the implementation of standards-based education.
A graduate of MIT, Rep. Hubbell is committed to supporting Maine communities through public education, technological research, transportation infrastructure and sound long-term energy policy.
Self-employed as construction project manager, Rep. Hubbell lives in Bar Harbor with his wife Liddy, an architect and artist, and his daughter Nora, a high school junior. He is a distance runner and coach.
