Representative Brian L. Hubbell
Rep. Brian Hubbell is serving his second term in the Maine Legislature. He is a returning member of the Education and Cultural Affairs Committee. He was the House chair of the Commission to Strengthen the Adequacy and Equity of Certain Cost Components of the School Funding Formula.
Hubbell is a longtime advocate for community schools and served as the first chair of the reorganized Mount Desert Island Regional School System. As a school board member, he helped to guide MDI schools’ contract negotiations and the implementation of standards-based education.
A graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Hubbell is committed to supporting Maine communities through public education, scientific research and development, transportation infrastructure and sound long-term energy policy.
Self-employed as a construction project manager, Hubbell lives in Bar Harbor with his wife, Liddy, an architect and artist, and his daughter, Nora. He is a distance runner and coach.
