About Rep. Clark

Representative Herbert E. Clark is serving his 10th term in the House of Representatives. After serving eight sessions, he was barred from seeking re-election due to term limits. His son, Joe, ran and served four sessions until he, too, was term-limited. Rep. Clark is a member of the Legislature’s Committee on Labor and the Committee on Taxation.

Rep. Clark is a graduate of Stearns High School and attended the University of Maine at Orono. He completed courses at Eastern Maine Technical College and Kennebec Technical College. He was employed by Great Northern Paper Company in Millinocket for 38 years and currently works for Katahdin Paper.

Given the changing local economy in the greater Katahdin area, Rep. Clark is a strong proponent of job creation to promote economic development.

A lifelong resident of Millinocket, Rep. Clark is a dedicated and involved member of the community. He is President of the Maine Avenue Manor Board of Directors, a member of the Katahdin Federal Credit Union Board of Directors and a trustee of the Millinocket Regional Hospital. He is also a member of the Fin and Feather Club and a member of the Northern Timber Cruisers Snowmobile Club.

He is a life member of the Donald V. Henry Post #80 American Legion, life member of the Medway D.A.V. Millinocket Elks Lodge #1521 and he is a 4th degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus Council #680.
