Representative Adam A. Goode
Rep. Adam Goode is serving his fourth term in the Maine House of Representatives. Rep. Goode works as the Head Boys and Girls Cross Country Coach at Bangor High School and is pursuing a Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Maine. From 2005 to 2011 he worked as an environmental organizer at the Maine People’s Alliance and Maine Peoples Resource Center, a citizen action group involved in social and environmental issues.
Adam has served on the steering committee for the Alliance for a Clean and Healthy Maine, working to protect Maine children and families from toxic chemicals used in household products. He has worked to improve the quality of health care that Mainers receive as a member of Aligning Forces for Quality. He is currently a member of the Worker Rights Board of Eastern Maine.
Adam served two terms on the Joint Standing Committee on Insurance and Financial Services from 2009 to 2012. In 2010, he served on the Joint Select Committee on Health Care Reform Opportunities and Implementation. He has worked on legislation to improve the quality of health care, improve access to child care and increase transparency in the review of health insurance rates. He is currently serving as the House Chair of the Joint Standing Committee on Taxation.
A fifth-generation Bangor resident, Rep. Goode was born in Calais and grew up in Bangor, graduating from Bangor High School and the University of Maine. He lives in downtown Bangor and enjoys running, playing music and spending time at Beech Hill Pond.
