Representative Jennifer L. DeChant
Representative Jennifer DeChant is serving her second term in the Maine House of Representatives. She is a member of the Judiciary Committee.
Jennifer brings diverse economic development knowledge and policy experience, based on her hands-on work in both the public and private sectors, to her role as a first time legislator.
As public service manager within the Department of Community and Economic Development, Jennifer worked closely with department officials to develop and manage several programs to foster growth in Maine’s economy. Previously she conducted outreach to connect small businesses with gap financing options and technical training and assistance while working for a progressive community development corporation.
Her legislative experience includes work as a legislative aide in both the Office of the Speaker of the House and House Majority Office. Most recently Jennifer handled public relations and media marketing for a Portland-based small manufacturing business.
Jennifer is active within her community, working on Bath Heritage Days, Main Street Bath, United Way of Midcoast Maine, Bath Zoning Board of Appeals, Bath Sunrise Rotary, Bath Planning Board and Chocolate Church Arts Center Board of Directors. She also works with Maine Rural Partners and is member of Phippsburg Sportsmen Association.
Jennifer resides in Bath with her family.
