About Rep. Grose

Rep. Carol Davis Grose works professionally as as an advocate for domestic violence victims and is planning to open her own shelter, Willow Haven. Prior to working in family crisis assistance, she worked at Bath Iron Works, Local S6, Parkview Hospital and owned her own business. Carol also assists her husband, Karl Grose, with his carpentry business. She is also busy at home with her Black Lab, JD.

A Woolwich native, she attended Morse High School, and is currently working on a degree from the University of Maine-Augusta at the Bath facility.

Rep. Grose is serving her third term in the Maine House of Representatives, and is a member of the Health and Human Services Committee. At the request of the Chair, Grose, acts as a liaison with the commissioner Health and Human Services.

Speaker of the House John Richardson recently appointed Grose to serve on the Task Force to Study Maine's Homeland Security Needs, a committee that assessed the state's preparedness to prevent and/or cope with a terrorist attack or natural disaster. Besides working on this task force, Grose adds her input to many other committees and commissions, including the Maine Children's Trust Fund and as a member of the Council of State Governments Eastern Regional Conference Criminal Justice Board of Advisors Committee and Maine Women's Labor Institute.

Rep. Grose is dedicated to social issues and fairness in government. Her areas of policy interest include public safety, women's issues, child abuse, government policies, veterans issues and mental health.
