Fort Kent Logger Forum Scheduled for May 7

The Maine Department of Labor is hosting an informational forum on logging issues at 9:00 AM, Friday May 7, 2010 at the Fox Auditorium at the University of Maine at Fort Kent.

The event is open to the public and will include presentations on recent federal changes in h-2a regulations; updates on new logging rules regarding equipment ownership and recent legislative changes impacting loggers in Maine. Representatives from the Maine CareerCenter will be on hand to provide instructions on posting jobs and applying for job openings listed in the Maine CareerCenter Job Bank.

The forum had been scheduled for April 30, 2010, but was postponed to cover recent legislative changes pertaining to the logging industry.
