WILTON?The Wilton CareerCenter will hold a job fair for veterans on May 9, from 9 a.m. to noon at it office at 865 US Route 2E in Wilton. More than a dozen employers will be recruiting for open positions. The general public is also welcome to attend.

?I encourage our veterans to take advantage of this job fair and the free programs our CareerCenters offer. You have earned these services,? said Governor Paul R. LePage. ?The staff of the CareerCenters can assist veterans in applying for training programs and in translating what they did in the armed forces into what employers are looking for on a resume.?

The following businesses are scheduled to participate: Care and Comfort, At Work, Maine Wood Concepts, Maine Staffing, BarclayCard, Assistance Plus, Bonney Staffing, Army Recruiting, MAS Home Care, Jarden?s Plastic Solutions, Carbonite, WalMart (Farmington, Skowhegan and Mexico), the Department of Transportation and T- Mobile.

Commissioner of Labor Jeanne Paquette reminded jobseekers to be prepared to make a strong first impression. ? It?s a good idea to dress professionally,? she noted. ?Don?t forget to bring multiple copies of your resume and be prepared to have an ?interview-like? conversation with employers to discuss your skills and abilities.?

The job fair is sponsored by the Wilton CareerCenter, the Maine Department of Labor, the Central Western Maine Workforce Investment Board and Western Maine Community Action.
