Lewiston CareerCenter’s March 4 Job Fair Targets Unemployed Bookmark and Share

Available jobs range from entry level to professional

LEWISTON—The Lewiston CareerCenter will hold a job fair at its building on 5 Mollison Way, Lewiston, on Monday, March 4, 9 a.m. to noon. More than 30 employers will be recruiting for open positions.

Employers registered to date include: Adecco, Advance Auto, Argo Marketing, Assistance Plus, Bates College, Bonney Staffing, Carbonite, Care & Comfort, Cianbro, Clover Health Care, Creative Innovations, Inc., Department of Corrections, State of Maine, Genesis Health Care, Great Falls Marketing, Home Depot, International Paper, Kelly Services, Lee Auto Mall, Lowe’s, Maine Bucket, Manpower, MAS Home Care, Merrymeeting Behavioral Health Associates, Notify MD, Robert Half/Office Team, Support Solutions, U.S. Army, VIP, WeStaff, Western Maine Transportation, Women Unlimited and Xerox.

Attendees should bring a resume and should be prepared to have an “interview-like” conversation with employers to discuss skills, knowledge areas and abilities. Job seekers should also be dressed for an interview.

“Job fairs highlight the different companies and jobs available in your area,” noted Commissioner of Labor Jeanne Paquette. “They’re great opportunities for people at different stages in their careers to talk to many businesses and get excited about the possibilities that a new job or career can open up for them.”

CareerCenters, part of the Maine Department of Labor, offer a variety of workshops and services to help people find employment or upgrade skills. Each center provides several public-access computer workstations with Microsoft Office software, resume writing and cover letter software, Internet access and O’Net software for skills assessment. All CareerCenter services are free of charge.
