Lewiston? The Lewiston CareerCenter announces August programming for job seekers and those who are considering training to upgrade their skills to increase their employability.

In addition to its training programs, the Lewiston CareerCenter assists employers in connecting with qualified jobseekers. On August 8, 2012, Cianbro will hold a job fair at the Lewiston CareerCenter from 8 a.m.?2 p.m. Cianbro will be recruiting for HVAC, pipe welders, pipe fitters, electricians and first-class line workers.

Workshops of note, in addition to the Lewiston CareerCenter?s regular programming:

The Job Quest will be offered on August 8 from 3?4:30 p. m. and August 20 from 9?10:30 a.m. It?s a competitive job market! This 1.5 hour job search skills workshop provides the tools needed to be successful in a job search. It discusses strategies that highlight skills?it?s all about marketing!

Mock Job Interviews will be offered on August 13 from 2?4:00 p.m. You have the perfect resume and are invited to interview?awesome! Then comes that dreadful thought??I haven?t interviewed in years,? or ?I am new to interviewing? or ?I have interviewed several times but I am not getting job offers.? Attend this workshop to master the interview! Success comes with practice, and practicing in a workshop is risk-free and instructional. This workshop will give you all the tools you will need to feel comfortable in an interview. Participating in the Resume/Interview Skills workshop is a prerequisite to attending this workshop.

?Networking?please don?t make me do that!? will be offered on August 16 from 9 a.m.?noon. We all talk about the importance of networking in your job search?85% of the jobs that are found are found through connections, not through job ads. However, it can be a scary process: ?I don?t know what to say. I don?t know what questions to ask. How do I keep the conversation going?? This workshop, presented by Bob Labrie of Maximum Potential, will give you the tools and the language you need to feel more comfortable about networking and to get the most out of it, including creating an elevator speech that doesn?t sound rehearsed, mastering the art of asking questions and much more!
