We did it!

A HUGE thank you to the 5,000+ of volunteers who made the five-year Maine Bird Atlas a success! We are busy going through the millions of records and look forward to sharing the final report with you in the future. In the meantime, check out the preliminary Breeding Atlas Results Summary and the Winter Atlas Results Summary.

Thank you again, we could not have completed this project without you!

When the project is finished, we will have answered two key questions:

  • 1. How many breeding and wintering birds are there in Maine?
  • 2. Where exactly can they be found?

The results will be published digitally and as a book and will serve as a go-to resource for everyone from wildlife biologists to birdwatchers, students, environmentalists, artists, and more.
