RE:                 Two-day Per Week Distinguished Educator Position for School Year 2007-2008


Attached is a profile for a two-day per week position that will be filled by the Federal Program Services Team in the Department of Education for School Year 2007-2008. The Department of Education will contract with a school administrative unit for a practitioner with excellent professional development skills to assist schools and school administrative units in planning for and implementing a continuum of school and unit English language acquisition program improvements.   Candidates must also be knowledgeable in the use of data to make program decisions and in the current best practices in English language acquisition for all grade levels.


The school administrative unit will be reimbursed for two days of the employee’s salary, benefits and fixed costs. The employee will return to the school administrative unit at the end of the contract period.
