SUBJECT:       Year-End Pupil Transportation Reports


Please forward to school business managers, transportation directors and those who will provide the Pupil Transportation Reports data to the Department of Education.

As announced in Informational Letter #157 dated June 28, 2006, the FY2006 year end pupil transportation reports/data collection forms will be provided in electronic format for on-line submission this year.  The reports will follow the protocol required for all MEDMS reports.  This letter is to announce that the on-line reporting is now available at https://www.medms.maine.gov/medms   You will be reporting data normally collected on the following reports:

  1. Public School Bus Inventory and Mileage Report – EF-T-18
  2. District-owned Non-conforming Vehicles Report – EF-T-18A
  3. Privately-owned School Bus Inventory Report – EF- T-19
  4. Privately-owned Non-conforming Vehicles Report – EF-T-19A
  5. Public School Transportation Training, Safety and Operations Report – EF-T-21

If you do not have MEDMS access, please see your local MEDMS Administrator to get a Username and Password.  You need to have “Transportation Director” permission.  An instruction booklet is available for downloading at:  http://www.maine.gov/education/const/trans.htm

Due to the late availability of the reporting program, we have extended the submission date for this year to not later than August 22, 2006.  It is very important that these reports be completed accurately.  The data provided to the Department will be used for determining future transportation funding levels.  This is notification that subsidy checks will be withheld, beginning with the September check, if your complete reports have not been submitted.
