SUBJECT: 2006-07 Transportation Data for Out-of-District Special Education Students, Homeless Students and Career & Technical Education Students Report (EF-M-43) – Due July 31, 2007
Each school administrative unit must complete and submit the 2006-07 Transportation Data for Out-of-District Special Education Students, Homeless Students and Career & Technical Education (CTE) Students Report (EF-M-43) by July 31, 2007. This report is now available on the Department of Education website. The data from this report may impact the calculation of the Essential Programs & Services Transportation Total Allocations.
This report requires information on expenditures, revenues, and transportation mileage for special education, homeless and CTE students; therefore I encourage you to have your unit’s business personnel complete this form with the assistance of your unit’s transportation, special education and CTE personnel.
To obtain the form, please visit our website at: http://www.state.me.us/education/forms/mis.htm#schfin From this menu, select Transportation Data for Out-of-District Special Education Students, Homeless Students and Career & Technical Education Students Report (EF-M-43). This form is an Excel workbook and has two pages: a Cover Page and the EF-M-43 Report Page. On the Report Page, please complete the columns labeled as follows:
Section A. Special Education student out-of-district transportation:
- 2006-07 Total Annual Vehicle Miles
- 2006-07 Total Gross Annual Expenditure
- 2006-07 Special Education Transportation Receipts
Section B. Homeless student transportation in accordance with 20-A MRSA Section 5205, sub-section 7:
- 2006-07 Total Annual Vehicle Miles
- 2006-07 Total Gross Annual Expenditure
- 2006-07 Homeless Student Transportation Receipts
Section C. CTE (Vocational) student transportation in accordance with 20-A MRSA Section 15672, sub-section 22-A:
- 2006-07 Total Vehicle Miles To and From CTE Facility “Per Day”
- 2006-07 Number of Round Trips “Per Day”
- 2006-07 Number of Annual CTE Transportation Days
All other columns will automatically calculate in the Excel workbook. To ensure accuracy as we analyze your data, please submit the EF-M-43 Report “electronically” as an email attachment to suzan.beaudoin@maine.gov Again, all school administrative units are required to submit this report. If your unit does not have any expenditures or mileage, please submit a zero report. Once you have submitted your report, please check the following “Missing Reports” website to ensure that the Department of Education has received your report:
