Figure 2. Significant aquifer maps are compiled using surficial geology and materials information, well and test hole logs, and topographic analysis. The accuracy of the boundary is related to the amount of data available in a given area. The boundaries of the aquifer mapped in the example above will give you an idea of how to interpret their accuracy. The blue line on the surficial geology and materials map is the outline of the significant aquifer. Click each image for a more detailed explanation of map accuracy. 2a.
