Figure 4. A map similar to that in Figure 3 with the three beach cells illustrated. Cell 1 is farthest south and extends from the southern end of the beach north to the bath house area. Cell 2 is in the central beach from the bath house to a short distance north of Myrtle Avenue. Cell 3 extends from the Myrtle Avenue area north up to the bedrock ledge outcrops near the Southern Maine Community College Campus where the dunes taper and disappear at a coastal bluff. Cell 2 seems to have gained sand on the lower profile near the low-tide line during the Patriots' Day Storm.
