Figure 1. An aerial view of mid-coast Maine showing Popham Beach as part of a continuous sand system from the mouth of the Kennebec River in the east to Small Point in the west. Hunnewell Beach is a continuous strand of sand from the east side of Popham Beach. Seawall Beach is a natural beach system and preserve west of the Morse River and the state park. This photograph mosaic was taken August 23, 2005 for the Maine Department of Marine Resources and is available for use in a geographic information system via the Maine Office of GIS web site.
