Figure 23. Scarborough Beach, Scarborough. (a) Standard deviation at SC1 shows the greatest variability in elevation occurs in the offshore portion. This is most likely due to shifting positions of sand bars. (b) At SC2 the standard deviation is about 0.7 to 0.8 m of elevation throughout most of the profile. (c) At SC3 the large summer standard deviation may be an artifact of including the 1999 data in the calculation. The winter standard deviation is about half that of SC2.
