Figure 15. Higgins Beach, Scarborough. (a) Standard deviation at HI1 indicates that the berm area fluctuates 0.3 m or less and within the first 30 m of the profile. (b) At HI2 the summer berm height varies by as much as 0.4 m. (c) A wide dry beach at HI3 results in the greatest summer berm variability 40 to 50 m out on the profile line. The summer berm standard deviation is about 0.6 m.
