Robert W. Varney, Senior Vice President, Normandeau Associates, Bedford, New Hampshire

Mr. Varney was the former Regional Administrator of the U.S. EPA New England from 2001-2009 and the Commissioner of the New Hampshire Environmental Services from 1989-2001. Over the last 20 years, his career has included significant efforts to keep beaches clean and healthy in Maine and New England. He has worked extensively on climate change issues and has considerable experience with innovative public policy and local master plans. Mr. Varney has a bachelor’s degree from the University of New Hampshire and a master’s degree in urban planning from Michigan State University. He has been a part-time Maine resident for 50 years.
