Robert Almeder, Board of Directors ,SOS; Board of Directors, Kennebunkport Resident's Association; Co-Chairman of Growth Planning Committee, Kennebunkport; Emeritus Professor of Philosophy of Science, Georgia State University Robert Almeder is Professor Emeritus of Philosophy at Georgia State University in Atlanta where he taught for several years and has also had a range of academic appointments at universities abroad. Dr. Almeder has published over eighty philosophical essays in such journals as Philosophy of Science. He has served on the Board of Consulting Editors for various journals including The American Philosophical Quarterly. Many of his published essays, especially in areas of Theory of Knowledge, Philosophy of Science, and Applied Ethics, have been the objects of discussion in various essays and in books published by other philosophers. Among his published books is Blind Realism: An Essay on Human Knowledge and Natural Science. Dr. Almeder is a research proposal referee for the National Science Foundation and also a frequent research panelist for the National Endowment for the Humanities. He has served as Chair of the Fulbright Commission Panel for the Discipline of Philosophy and has served as a consultant for the Centers for Disease Control (Atlanta), The National Science Foundation, medical institutions, law firms and various governmental agencies.
