Figure 5. Historical note: Some confusion was introduced by the 1955 edition of the U.S.G.S. 15' topographic map, shown here, in which Haskell Rock Pitch is purported to be above the Haskell Deadwater. This was clearly an error, since the stretch below Stair Falls does not have rapids at all, and there can be no question as to the location of Haskell Rock itself (red arrow). The current U.S.G.S. topographic map shows Haskell Rock Pitch in the proper place, despite the fact that Haskell Rock is not indicated explicitly.
