Figure 1C. Structural map of the Mount Waldo batholith and neighboring country rocks. Notice that the structural trends in the granite are to the north and northwest, while the structural trends in the metamorphic rocks outside the granite are to the northeast. This demonstrates that the granite was emplaced after the country rocks had been foliated, and that flow within the molten granite caused its internal foliation (Trefethen, 1944).
