Figure 1. The 1985 Bedrock Geologic Map of Maine was a major collaborative undertaking of many geologists, coordinated by the Maine Geological Survey and partially funded by the U.S. Department of Energy. The "title block" from the map lists the people who played major roles, and their main areas of responsibility. A small index map shows how the State was divided into smaller areas to take into account the expertise and experience of the compilers.
