Upgrade Boothbay Harbor Recreation, Education, and Tourism Facilities

Improving facilities that provide public access to outdoor spaces has become a priority during the pandemic. These one-time funds will support improvements to energy efficiency and public access to the ocean at the Boothbay Harbor facility of the Maine Department of Marine Resources, home to the Maine State Aquarium, and improved public recreational access to the ocean at the Boothbay Harbor facility and on nearby Burnt Island with rebuilt ramps, roadways and piers compliant with the federal Americans with Disabilities Act. The capital improvement projects will also allow for more energy efficient operations in the future.
