Independent Commission To Postpone Next Scheduled Public Hearing

AUGUSTA, Maine – Today, the Independent Commission to Investigate the Facts of the Tragedy in Lewiston announced that it will postpone its scheduled hearing on December 14th as it continues to work to gather records critical to the investigation.

Following is a statement from Commission Chairman, Dan Wathen:

β€œIt was our sincere intention to hold our next public hearing this week. Unfortunately, the Commission is awaiting the receipt of key information we believe we need to help us paint the full picture before, during, and after that tragic day. Commissioners remain actively engaged with the state police and others to get the information we need to do fulfill our obligation to the people of Maine. The public hearing will be rescheduled as soon as possible.”
