JOB DESCRIPTION
The Office of the Attorney General has an opening for an Assistant Attorney General within the Litigation Division in the Augusta Office. The attorney in this position has primary responsibility for managing ongoing bankruptcy, foreclosure, estate/probate, and civil collection and enforcement cases for Maine Revenue Services (MRS). This work involves litigation in the United States Bankruptcy Court, Maine Probate Court, and Maine Superior Court. The attorney works closely with MRS staff. The attorney in this position also provides advice regarding bankruptcy and collections matters to other divisions within the Office of the Attorney General.
Office of the Attorney General MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must be members of the Maine Bar in good standing, have strong legal advocacy and research and writing skills, and a demonstrated ability to function effectively as part of a team. One to three years of legal practice with demonstrated proficiency in bankruptcy law and civil litigation is preferred.
