Augusta, Maine: The Superintendent of Insurance today announced a change in location and time for the continuation of the Dirigo Savings Offset Payment hearing. The hearing which began on Monday, October 24th in Augusta in Room #209 of the Cross Office Building was to continue on Thursday, October 27th and Friday, October 28th at the Bureau’s offices in Gardiner. However, in response to requests by interested persons, the hearings on Thursday, October 27th and Friday, October 28th will resume at 9:30 a.m. again in Room #209 of the Cross Office Building, 111 Sewall Street, Augusta, Maine. The purpose of the hearing is for the Superintendent to review Dirigo’s determination of aggregate measurable costs savings resulting from the operation of Dirigo. The Bureau of Insurance is part of the Department of Professional and Financial Regulation which encourages sound ethical business practices through high quality, impartial and efficient regulation of insurers, financial institutions, creditors, investment providers, and numerous professions and occupations for the purpose of protecting the citizens of Maine.
