Rep. Lydia Crafts is serving her third term in the Maine House of Representatives and is the House chair of the Transportation Committee.

Crafts grew up in Belfast, where she learned that being from Maine meant needing to be a thoughtful problem solver, a strong collaborator and a champion for justice. She also learned the importance of hard work, dedication and commitment to community. These beliefs informed how she chose her profession, how she’s raising her children and her approach to public service.

Crafts earned her master’s degree in social work from the University of Maine. As a social worker in local schools, her professional work has focused on supporting the critical mental health needs of children and families.
