Governor LePage Proclaims September 28, 2018 Maine Children's Day

WHEREAS, children, by virtue of their presence in this world, establish a tangible link with the future, and represent the generations that will lead the world into the twenty-first century and beyond; and

WHEREAS, children personify many virtues inherent to the human spirit through their ebullient curiosity, hope, enthusiasm, creativity, idealism and honesty; and

WHEREAS, the children of Maine represent the possibility of a future for Maine people enlightened through experience, experiment, education and intelligence; and

WHEREAS, the children of Maine constantly and effortlessly bring joy to parents, grandparents, family members and friends with the merest smile or action.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, PAUL R. LEPAGE, Governor of the State of Maine, do hereby proclaim September 28, 2018 as MAINE CHILDREN'S DAY throughout the State of Maine, and urge all citizens to recognize this observance.

In testimony whereof, I have caused the Great Seal of the State to be hereunto affixed GIVEN under my hand at Augusta this twenty-seventh day of August Two Thousand and Eighteen.
