Maine's Coordinated School Health Programs provide helpful information about eight components of Maine's healthy schools. Those components are Health Education, Physical Education, Health Services, Nutrition Services, School Climate, Health Promotion, Physical Environment, and Community Involvement. The connection of health with education serves to reduce absenteeism, increase classroom performance, and prepare students to be productive members of their communities.
